At its annual business meeting in Indianapolis on August 29, 2022, Executive Vice President Justin Buck (Southeast Missouri State, Epsilon Iota ‘96) was installed as chairman of the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). The NIC, founded in 1909, serves as the industry association and voice for 56 fraternal organizations in North America, with member chapters active at more than 600 universities.

In his acceptance remarks, Buck noted the value of NIC to its members, the many host institutions, and the tens of thousands of young men whose lives are impacted by the fraternity movement year in and year out.

Buck emphasized the NIC‘s priorities which will remain focused on providing industry leading research on the positive impact fraternities are having on young men. The NIC will also continue to promote and advocate for all fraternities, while helping its members grow as independent organizations and as an overall association, expanding its reach and inclusivity to welcome all other college, fraternal organizations. Buck noted the importance of open dialogue and coordination with host institutions to the benefit of the many university students mutually served.

Buck’s term as the NIC‘s top volunteer is for two years. He is the sixth Pike to serve as NIC chairman and 97th chair in its 113-year history. His predecessors include:
