When Zach Gaubert (Lexington, KY, Omega ’18) joined the provisional chapter in 2018, the now Omega Chapter was reestablishing on campus. Excited to help build the chapter from the ground up, he became chapter president in 2019. During his presidency, he noticed that the chapter had not taken steps to reengage alumni and build an active alumni advisory board (AAB). Currently, Gaubert serves as Omega as chapter advisor, where he plays an important role in building the AAB, supporting the chapter, and reconnect alumni with the great work PIKE is doing.
“I originally had zero interest in being in a fraternity and wanted nothing to do with Greek life, until I met the brothers in PIKE. Instantly I was surrounded by high quality, high achieving members who clearly had a future ahead of them yet also were willing to teach and show me what it meant to be a scholar, leader, athlete, and gentleman. As president, I know that what I learned through PIKE taught me more than anything I ever learned in the classroom and stays with me to this day,” Gaubert says. “PIKE provided me with a safe framework to learn how to handle and process stress, time management, financial management, tough conversations, investor relations, public speaking, and a myriad of other skills. I feel truly blessed and fortunate that I was able to have such a positive fraternal experience and my involvement as an alumni reflects my desire to provide/and ensure that the same experience is available for generations to come.”
Professionally, Gaubert is a manager of procurement operations at BrightSpring Health Services, where he is responsible for process and program improvement opportunities across multiple vendor lines. He works with an operations team across the country to identify, analyze, and execute on various savings and process improvement opportunities. This fall, he will graduate with his MBA from the University of Georgia.
“When I was president, we only had our chapter advisor. Now, we have a dedicated group of 20+ alumni who join bi-weekly calls, take time out of their personal lives to invest in the future of Omega Chapter, and reconnect with friends they have made over the years,” Gaubert shares about advising. “It has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me to partake in and I am looking forward to our future as I am confident that we have not even scratched the surface of what is to come.”
