MEMPHIS, TN – Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Nicholas Smiddy (Wayne State, Delta Nu ‘18) as the May 2022 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and having a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities. 

Smiddy, a senior at Wayne State University, was nominated for his leadership within the chapter, his commitment to his brothers, and his community service. 

Smiddy has served Delta Nu Chapter as president, internal vice president, and IFC delegate. During his time as chapter leader, Smiddy was instrumental in the planning of a walkathon philanthropy event that culminated in a one-one-million-dollar donation benefiting bipolar disorder research. Further, the chapter was able to hold its annual 5k fundraiser for the first time in three years and raised over $15,000 for philantrophy. Delta Nu has also experienced recent recruitment success under Smiddy’s leadership.  

Outside of the Fraternity, Smiddy embodies the values of Pi Kappa Alpha. He is involved in new student orientation and an undergraduate researcher, researching the intricoes of human behavior.  

Smiddy is pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice, holding a 3.6 GPA. He is currently a banker trainer intern for Rocket Mortgage, working in the banker training program. Smiddy plans to pursue a career in human resources following his graduation this summer.
