Funded by Jim Cathey (Linfield, Delta Rho ’83)
The Cathey Family Scholarship is named in honor of Jim and his brother, David, who shared an outstanding undergraduate experience at Linfield University as members of the Delta Rho chapter, and their parents Janice and Dave Cathey, Sr.
Jim Cathey is Chief Commercial Officer of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. In this role Jim has oversight for global sales, account management, strategic partnerships and business development, sales operations, and customer support across the company. Qualcomm is enabling a world where everyone and everything can be intelligently connected; their 5G and AI innovations power the connected intelligent edge. These technologies are behind and inside the innovations that deliver significant value across multiple industries and to billions of people every day.
The Cathey Family Scholarship Fund will provide much needed tuition assistance for undergraduates during a time when students are struggling the cover the ever increasing cost of higher education. As a D3 school, scholarship support for varsity athletes is not available so one goal of this fund is to provide funding to ensure members of Pi Kappa Alpha can compete on and off the field at the highest level.
