Real Estate Executive Dan Corah Announces Retirement

Dan CorahMEMPHIS, TN – Daniel W. Corah (Colorado State, Epsilon Theta ’83) announced that he will be retiring from the Fraternity at the conclusion of 2020, wrapping up an incredible 35-year career with Pi Kappa Alpha.

Dan’s Fraternity career began in 1986 as a chapter consultant and continued as a director of services from 1987-89. His career in real estate started in 1989 as the Fraternity’s housing officer and continued through today as he serves as the chief real estate officer.

As one of the foremost experts in Fraternity housing in the Greek industry, Dan has been sought out by countless ΠΚΑ house corporations, alumni, and numerous other fraternities and sororities for guidance. From long-term planning and acquisition to building operations; architecture and design to capital campaigns; and countless other topics, his knowledge runs the gamut. Dan has worked with 12 international real estate advisors and White Horse board members and led 12 staff members through the real estate department during his tenure. He established both the Operations and Conditions standards for chapter housing along with the Model Facilities Program. He is responsible for hosting the Fraternity’s first ever Housing Summit for house corporations and volunteers and is credited with founding International Work Day, which to date has resulted in over $5 million in improvements to PIKE facilities and brought together over 77,000 Pikes and families.

While real estate is his expertise, the Fraternity has been his passion and his contributions to Pi Kappa Alpha outside of real estate are innumerable. Dan’s involvement with the Fraternity’s history and Ritual is well known. He served as the liaison to the Convention Ritual Committee for the past 30 years and designed both the esquire urn as well as the modern white horse symbol used today. He also procured the Fredrick Southgate Taylor personal photo album in 2010, which has provided numerous early photos of the founders and the Fraternity. Fighting for fraternity rights has also been a priority for Dan as he has served on the Fraternity and Sorority Political Action Committee since 2012, helping to advance issues such as freedom of association and student health & safety.

Future versions of Pi Kappa Alpha’s history will undoubtedly pay tribute to the significant contributions made by Dan Corah. There are arguably few in all of the Fraternity who have had as significant an impact for as long a period of time as Dan. ΠΚΑ will forever be grateful and indebted to Dan for his selfless service and his friendship, love, and truth. It is likely that today, almost every living member of Pi Kappa Alpha has had their Fraternity experience impacted in a positive way by Dan Corah.

There will be additional information highlighting Dan’s career, achievements, and contributions to Pi Kappa Alpha in future publications as well as at upcoming events.
