Andrew Norton (New Mexico Beta Delta ’24) is the September 2025 Pike of the Month.
As the first Pike to serve as Student Body President since 1924, Norton is making a lasting impact on the University of New Mexico and its community. He has played a key role in creating the most student jobs in student government history, served on several campus boards, and worked closely with state and local government leaders on safety initiatives. He oversaw the launch of numerous safety campaigns including a student ride service, increase lighting on campus, and an increased police presence in campus parking lots. As president, Norton traveled to Washington D.C. to speak at the White House about what makes New Mexico stand out, as well as improvements that can be made for a brighter future.
In the chapter, Norton previously served as external vice president, where he ran the most successful Fireman’s Challenge philanthropy event in chapter history. His leadership helped Beta Delta Chapter win its fourth consecutive Greek Week and raise $15,000 for a local women’s resource center. In this role, he created four new leadership positions to build better relationships with fraternities and sororities on campus, as well as worked to improve the chapter’s public relations efforts.
“My experience as a member has encouraged me and led me to the success I have achieved so far. Some of my best friends, greatest role models, and my own family (my brother and cousin) are in my chapter,” Norton says. “It has made college beyond enjoyable, but has also pushed me to do more during my experience.”
